VACANCY for WATERCOLOURS TUTOR
Aspley Classes for Seniors has a vacancy for a watercolours tutor for two keen groups of senior students (aged over 50) on Friday mornings. We are looking for an experienced watercolourist who can teach to the elements of painting with watercolours to new students and mentor experienced students. Formal qualifications relevant to painting with watercolours are desirable but not essential.
There is one class for beginners followed by another class for experienced students. Each class is 90 minutes long. Ideally the same tutor would conduct both classes, but we are also open to having different tutors.
Students usually complete a painting on a specific subject matter on A4 paper during each 90-minute class. Each student is provided with their own table, set up with a tabletop easel and bottles of water. Students provide their own brushes, paints and paper.
There are usually up to 16 students in the beginners' class and up to 10 in the experienced class.
Classes are held at the Aspley Uniting Church, 748 Robinson Rd., Aspley. Morning tea is provided in the adjacent Hall between the two classes.
Starting date is by negotiation. However, no later than the first class of Term 3 on Friday 24 July would be ideal. There are four terms of seven weeks each during the year.
All of our tutors are volunteers. However, tutors are eligible for a small cash gift at the end of the year to help offset their out-of-pocket expenses including travel.
